61 Ford Quarter Panel Fix
Got a new car in the shop today.customers of course. fixing some rust and takin the little dent outa the quarter panel. car was involved in a hit and run
hmmmm why is it rusting right there? ahhhhh the old brace !! didnt get a pic but descaled the brace shot it with some rusto primer and some paint found some previous damage and an oil can, lovely.did some shrinking to those so i could work the panel since thats not in my scope of work at the moment and got the patch half way in.

Re: 61 Ford Quarter Panel Fix
finished up the patch and did some more shrinking to the stretched area
here comes the fun part!! well i gotta save a bunch of the OG quarter because the guy on the hamb i bought the replacement quarter didnt tell me it was rusted out after i asked him how is it behind the trim.... bottle jack and some angle iron and you have yourself a quarter panel fixer!! after about 20 mins of work surprised how nice all the heavy damage is coming out!! id say i have about 70% of the bottom saved below the trim line more work on that tomorrow and then get the bumper off!!

Re: 61 Ford Quarter Panel Fix
set the decklid gap on the good quarter so i wont have a huge mess when i put the new one on..shows how much the hit sunk the quarter down burning the lead out dont wanna grind that shit and breath it in... first time its seen the light of day in 40 + years bumper off next drillin out all the spot welds.. tomorrow gonna get the quarter off and prep the new quarter for install!!!
