34 ford battery location
hey forb barners where is battery located in 34 ford a 34 coupe just ended on ebay nice looking orignal coupe but battery was mounted to fire wall on driver side looked realy junkey other wise pictures looked real good of course it is hard to tell just from pictures 31,000.00 no bids i am a model A nut so know very little about early flat heads how far off is he on the price thanks ora

Mine is a RHD four cylinders 1933 and the battery is on the Left side under the passenger side seat.

The photo below is of very original '33-'34 floor pan of the type used in bodies destined to used with RHD chassis. Unlike the LHD body floor pans which have only one battery access opening (on the left side), it has two openings for access to the battery forward of the seat riser. The one on the left is for batteries with four-cylinder engines and the one the right is for batteries with V-8 engines. (The car in the photo is a RHD four-cylinder roadster.) |

Yes, mine has 2 openings of same size on the floor panel, a sort of mirror image. The battery was on the L when I bought the car which by DavidG's description is correct for a four banger. I was wondering what the R side opening was for, thanks for clarifying. I thought it could be for a tool box. Constantly learning with these flaties !! Manuel
