JSeery, thank you for the very thorough follow-up on my information request regarding the Bishop/Tardel book issues. Well done!

It's not just the shipping, the cost of the book is also less at Amazon. I am waiting to see how my recent order, placed on H&H's website, actually winds up being processed.

Just as a matter of information----my book,"Flathead Facts" is available on Amazon. The way my program works is that Amazon sends me a notification of orders and I do the actual mailings.

I've known Mike for over 20 years, and what ever he does, his attention to detail can't be matched. He and Vern should be rewarded for their efforts.

Re: New Book From H&H on Rebuilding Flathead Engines
Yes. And the best way to reward writers is to buy the books directly through them and not though discount sellers. A buyer might save a few lousy bucks buying through sites like Amazon, but those few lousy bucks keep adding up and at the end of the day the writers are disadvantaged. Who can them blame them when they say 'well that wasn't much fun, I won't be writing another' and everyone loses except the discount seller - there's always another writer coming along and always a buyer looking to save the cost of a donut and a shake.

It took just 2 days from CA to MD, shipped by USPS Priority Flat Rate Box, to receive my autographed copy of their new book, an H&H T shirt, and a copy of their latest catalog. I can tell you that Mike personally took care of my order, called me on some details prior to shipping, and made good on his promise posted on Facebook to match the shipping advertised by another company mentioned in earlier posts on this thread. I am a happy camper to have my copy now rather than waiting until "maybe" getting it in two months, and would recommend to anyone else who wants a copy of this new book to order it directly from H&H's website. Link to their website was given on page #1 of this post.

Re: New Book From H&H on Rebuilding Flathead Engines
Received my book yesterday. I especially liked the sections on rope seals, installing valves and shimming springs, checking head clearance. Maybe you guys know all that stuff, but I learned quite a bit.,...jack

You can never have too many flatheads, or flathead books.
Just ordered mine along with one of those cool t shirts. |
