Default Power steering

I am new to the forum and have a 52 F1. Does anyone make a kit to adapt power steering to these trucks?

Think that is a common mod, might want to check on the HAMB. I have read several post on that swap.

It's not a kit but a fairly easy way to do it is use a power cylinder with a linear control valve in it. These can be added without modifying the original steering box because they push on the existing pitman arm.
Several cars had these over the years. 60's Nash, late 50's through the 60's Ford's are probably the most common.

I put the 79-84 toyota steering box in my 52 panel and really like it. Used the 53-55 bracket and hoses from mid fifty and a 69 mustang power steering pump. Effortless steering without being as touchy as new cars.

Here is a you-tube video showing an electric power steering.
Or do a search for other electric units.

Thanks for all the posts! I am really enjoying this forum and am learning a lot through all of you. Most of my old car experience to date has been with Model T's. Having jumped forward a few decades to the 52 F1 there is lots to learn.
I am checking in and going through each post evaluating all suggestions.
Thanks, Tim

my buddies got an 81 Corvette its Bendix same as a Ford cut drag link
install control valve, mount and clamp cylinder to axle use anybodys pump
go to napa they will make the hoses (or my napa does) not hard or difficult but a little engineering to fab a pump bracket. Even easier if its a flathead
which has more room and more head bolts to mount. As far as the pulley
we use Fisher snow plow pulley kit which is pulley-spacer and longer crank
bolt.

What I did to my 46 Ford was use unisteer electric steering, got the complete kit from Summit for 728.00 that was with shipping and couplings. Very pleased, it worked out real good on the installation. Maybe took 2 nights to install. Look in my album and you can see pictures.

Electric P/S is something I had not thought of. How does it compare to hydraulic with respect to road feel?

Probably should have stated that I am 6V and do not plan to change to 12V.
Likely kills the electric assist option?

HelenT. Tell me more about the switch to turn it on and off. Does it go from power to manual in the off position? Is that a complete kit with all necessary parts and trinkets? Thanks.
