That should be replaced as a unit/assy. The Hub is 48-7561 for 35-48 and the Bearing is 78-7580 A for 28-48.

The TO bearing is lightly pressed onto the collar. The tabs on the back of the collar look to be worn a good bit where the clutch fork rides. I would check the collar and the fork to make sure they are not worn excessively. If they are, might be best to replace them. I usually wipe a little hi temp grease in this contact area during reassembly. Also, try to find a good TO bearing made in the USA. Some of the ones coming from off shore do not hold up very long, requiring early replacement.

Looking for info on the collar and haven't come up with much. How much wear on these is to much, I see I can buy used ones but how would they compare to the one I have now?

Do I need a new second speed gear bushing or is this wear normal?

Macdozer,

Sorry so long to get back to you. I will sell the 36 Ford trans I have for $100.00 complete less shift lever. Was in good working condition when removed 2 years ago.

I am under the impression that the early style synchronizer 48-7124 does not have the 7059 snap ring like the later styles.

So why does it show the 7059 snap ring in the 48-7124 synchronizer assembly ?

Shouldn't the 7059 be shown in the 01A-7124 assembly

I have a question about the 7080 oil baffle.
I got a new one and the center hole is slightly off center and a tiny bit larger then the old one.

See pic

With the bearing (7065) rear bearing in place I assume that it holds the baffle in place when the bearing is pressed against it.
How important is the baffle and will this cause any issues?
