Re: Baseball cap
Good idea. Most groups have hats, pins, shirts, stickers. Good idea.

Re: Baseball cap
The person to ask is Ryan it is his website and he can have them made and sell them if he doesn't want to he might license it to some one who would be interested in doing it.

Re: Baseball cap
So far Ryan has objected to anything with the Barn logo on it. Good luck!

Re: Baseball cap
My guess is that it's a legal issue with the Ford name and or branding. Ryan is smart to lay low and off of the radar of the Ford legal teams.

Good point. I would hope Ford would grant Ryan a license to use the name. It would be free publicity. He should ask for "a royalty-free, non-exclusive license to use and reproduce the Ford name and his logo in connection with caps, t-shits and related commercial products." Maybe another way around it would just have a cap or t-shirt that said "I'm a Barner." Everyone on rhe Board would know what it meant. You could add your user name embroidered separately. Re: Baseball cap
Some years ago there were Fordbarn buttons (the kind with a pin on the back). They had the Fordbarn logo on top with a place to write your name (handle) below.
That reminds me, I should wear mine at Hershey. |

And those who don't might be curious enough to ask. I'd bet copyright infringement is the issue. HAMBers get a custom-stamped firewall plate so I don't think Ryan objects to the idea of forum merchandise. Course, there's no copyright problem with the HAMB. |

Re: Baseball cap
FWIW: One (1) humble, not so funny, Model A Hobby opinion.
Today, it appears to make sense lately for most of us in the Model A Hobby to maintain a rather low profile. For example: A. Google Maps plus one's street address can portray a Government assessment and estimate of the worth of one's house and property. B. Online Military websites can show individual's military retired rank and estimated military retirement pay. C. Big Brother is watching constantly to punish the seemingly rich with taxes because they have too much; and also to reduce any of their earned benefits. D. Maybe showing that we possibly own an expensive "Hobby" Model A may soon be an indication to our Government that we are too rich to continue to receive our earned normal Social Security checks , and we possibly may be required to provide increased Medicare Co-Pay for those who do not have expensive Model A's. E. I never leave my Model A out in the driveway ....... the Google Map photographer might sneak by, take a picture of it, and a month later I might be on beans and rice. F. LOL; but, really not funny. |

Re: Baseball cap
I don't understand how it could be infringement if it's the same logo he's been using at the top of this page all along.
