opinion needed battery charger
Its time to get a battery charger, 6/12 capacity. I have always wanted a GOOD roll around unit that provided the highest capability. Of course I would also like something reasonable. Tried a Harbor Freight unit and it let me down first try. Sears units look just like the Harbor Freight units. They seem to be Chinese but dont know. Any one know of a GOOD unit made in USA or ??
Thanks t all Frederic |

Frederic
I bought my small battery charger from Harbor Freight 1 1/2 year ago and no problem I am basically using it after the car is in the garage and plug this in and battery cables on all the time 24 hours until I take the car out again for a spin. I have the blue top gel battery Optima 2 years old and no problem. Frenchy |

Re: opinion needed battery charger
Check out schumacher chargers or associated battery chargers , I have used both brands in the diesel repair business for many years without any problems.

I totally agree and the Schumacher has been around for longer than I can remember and we used them in our shop 35 + years and never a problem or failure.

However it is flaky with 6 volt batteries. It will say it is done when it isn't, or it will give up with an error message. It has been quite awhile since I tried it with 6 volts, so I don't remember the details. Since the initial failed attempts, I no longer try to use it with my old Fords. Don't get this if you want a charger for your 6 volt vehicles. Tom |

So there we were the Mrs and me ready for a ride on a cool night which does not happen often in the DC area in august and absolutely no juice.....and also no one fessed up to leaving the radio on either....thks bob |
