Default Super Deluxe

I have the Super Deluxe emblem and wanted to know where it fits on the 1948 coupe. I have enclosed a picture of the emblem. Thanks Jerry

That emblem is only used on 1946. It is not used on 1947-48 due to position of parking lights.

Actually, I dont mean to step in here, but maybe you can correct me if I'm wrong, but i've done a lot of research on the 1947 Super Deluxe, and from what I have come across, the early model 1947's had the badges and the front ends looked like the 46's as far as the parking lights, so the badge would go under the headlight on the drivers side. Seems that they changed the design in the middle of the model year to where the parking lights were now circular and went under the headlights as opposed to just below the hood, which them eliminated the badge. Case in point, my 1947 has the rectangle lights below the hood, and the holes for the badge below the headlight, but later 47's dont. I could be wrong on this, but again, it seems to be what I came up with in my research.

You are for the most part correct. Very early '47's used up the remaining '46 parts inventory that was left over from the '46 production. I don't have a cut off time as it varied between plants and their inventory but it was not near the mid '47 production. But it certainly was not used on '48 cars.

From the Early Ford V8 Club 41-48 book:

"It was decreed in mid-February, 1947, that the 1946 model passenger cars coming off Ford assembly lines would, henceforth, be titled as 1947 model Fords. These 1947 models, initially, were identical to most of the 467,000 previously produced postwar Fords. In early April, some 6 weeks later, publicity was release describing " . . . a number of exterior and interior styling changes . . . being incorporated in cars now being shipped to dealers." Changes mentioned in the accompanying article included 10 new colors, relocation of parking lights and fender trim, several new trim items and a great deal of interior restyling.
These and other changes which had been part of ongoing 'face lifting' studies for a year or more, were now being unveiled as 'spring-model' improvements to the 1947 Ford."

my car is titled as 47, but in every way, its a 46..it was called the early 47, so the emblem is below the headlight, drivers side

any time someone ask what yr. it is ,I say 46 because several times people have wanted to argue with me if I say its a 47, they say no its not..the 47 had parking lights below the headlights, so I say , if you know so much, why did you ask..so I find it easier to just say 46 and let it go..even in my profile, I list it as 46

Makemc, people get confused by my user name on a few forums because I actually had a 46 years ago, then got rid of it. And when I went to buy the one I have now, it's actually a 47, but people get all confused by my username when I ask for 47 parts. haha

Don't be confused. Just a 46 with aftermarket signal lights.
