Default 47 mercury convertible best resource book?

Picked up a 47 convertible (mercury) at auction. Body is great and engine is also super. I am thrilled to have picked this up but need to reassemble all interior and some mechanical. Can someone tell me what the best book for seeing exploded views of the car to aid in assembly might be for this Mercury convertible? Thanks!

A good basic easy to understand book is the Ford,Lincoln and Mercury Service manual-1946-thru -1948 Cars and Trucks. Polyprints has reprinted them and originals are on Ebay. I bought one when I bought my 1946 Ford in 1971,have since purchased mayby more sophisticated books but always seem to refer back to this very simple manual.

Contact Brownlee's Antique Auto in Lawrenceville, Georgia. Ask for Shirley, her late husband was BIG into Flathead era Mercury's. Nice car you've got, I love the color, I've got a Maize Yellow '47 Ford Convertible.

You have a very nice 47 Merc. It has the rare accessory fog lights and the correct grill surround.

Oldskool got the years for the catalogs backwards, the Chassis catalog is for 39-48 and the Body catalog is for 46-48. The Ford and Mercury Body parts list for 44-46 can also be helpful. The 42 and 46 Mercury were very similar to the 47.

The 39-48 Ford and Mercury Service manual is also helpful.

Brownlee's is the best resource for parts for your car. You may have to call several times to get an answer, but it is worth the effort.

There is a swap meet on this site and a Classified section on the Early Ford V-8 Club site, that you can put your parts wanted for free.

If you are missing any of that side trim, either belt line or fenders, there was a fellow in one of our local regional groups (who recently passed on) who had all of that trim.
PM me if needing it - I could probably find our where it is (or went). I heard once that it went to Nick Alexander's Restoration (LA) - and it would probably still be there (& for sale).
Nice Merc!
(And, the other guy's who mentioned Brownlee's are correct. He was always a good resource for Merc stuff.)

The best book for convertible parts is the 44-52 Body Parts List. It has detailed drawing of the convertible top mechanism, among others. C&G sells it as V-44. You can see their array of books and manuals at www.cgfordparts.com Convertibles are limited production cars, and bodies were often produced outside of the Ford factory. Finding specific parts can be a real scavenger hunt. I found parts for my '47 in Florida, Michigan, Ohio, and Missouri, among other places. Hydro-E-Lectric was also a big help.
