35- 40 are very similar with just a few suttle changes on certain models. Later frames are substantially different.

The lack of body mounts on the pick-up ruck frame and a difference in the front sheet metal drillings are what come to mind.

The frame I have was obtained about 40 years ago and the stamped number
is illegible. I there another spot that the frame might have been stamped ???

On the top of the left rail you should find the number about mid frame and on the rear kickup before it curves over the axle.

One quick way to recognize a 35 frame if I remember correctly is that the 35 passenger and pickup frames only have one hole in the radiator mounting bracket on each side the frame for mounting the radiator, The 36 on would have two. The 35 pickup frame may well not have the rear bumper mounting brackets since the 35 pickup rear bumper was an add-on. The center cross members in the 35/6 are not the same as the later ones because the brake rod set-up was not the same as the 37/8 cable brake set-up and the 39/40 hydraulic brakes. The 35/6 shock mounts are different from the later frames as well.
