Headlight help
40 coupe passenger side headlight stopped working. It burns but really dim. I have checked the ground and it’s good. Checked wiring and switch and all seems fine. Tried switching headlight out and still the same. Any ideas?

Re: Headlight help
Try jumping a separate wire from a known good ground to the headlight

Re: Headlight help
Oldbugger gave a good answer, I'll just add that the crossover bullet connector may offer too much resistance.

Re: Headlight help
If it does the same on high beam and low beam it's a weak ground. If it's only one beam or the other it's bad feed somewhere in the line between the far end of the cross over and socket. Tim

Re: Headlight help
Just being tight is not a good indicator. It could be corroded under the nut. Also, the headlight bucket may not be grounded properly to the fender, which itself may not be properly grounded to the frame. Too many iffy connections there. Run a dedicated ground wire directly to the frame.

Re: Headlight help
I hide a wire within the loom that is directly soldered to the inside of each headlamp and taillamp bucket. The other end is hidden at the frame. I have found this makes a huge difference in brightness at each bucket.
