Default metal tire stems

In my haste to get the 23 canopy express moving, I mounted 4 old Riverside tires with new metal valve stem tubes on my clincher rims. But I forgot to install the bridge washer and nut on the stem first. What will happen if I leave them out and run the truck? Thanks

Keep the inflation up and likely not much will happen.

The bridge washer is used to lock the stem to the rim, keeping it from intense bending and weakening or breaking the stem with loss of pressure. Heavy loads, heavy brake action can rock the stem in its rim hole, that washer and lock nut help to prevent that, especially with oversize rim hole where the stem can wiggle.

Thanks Tmodelman, I kind of thought it would help keep the tube from moving. So now I will have to wrestle with those old hard rubber tires again. Oh well, another lesson learned
