94 carb question.
I can pull the carb bodies off my roadster and leave the throttle bodies in place.
When I pull the carb bodies, I can see some wetness in the chambers that the heads of the power valves sit in. I can also see some wetness on the heads of the power valves. Is this normal? I am thinking the heads of the valves and the chambers should be dry. Does dampness indicate a leaking diaphragm or a incorrectly seated gasket? I have the bodies filled with fuel sitting over a spare pair of throttle bodies. they are bone dry so I will leave them for a while and check for any leaks. Without the powerful vacuum generated by the engine, though, I don't know how well this will work. So, those chambers, then, should they be dry? I borrowed this image off the internet, the chamber is the uppermost round area in this pic. Mart. |

Re: 94 carb question.
Should be dry.
Try pushing down on the button on the top of the PV shaft to flex the diaphragm to see if that starts it leaking.
