First time in 86 years
Took the body off a 1928 yesterday to see the chassis number for the first time since it was stamped. I'm sure the owner will be happy to know it matches the engine number, a March built car, but I couldn't see a gas tank date stamped in it. Bob

Tanks weren't yet being stamped in March 1928.

Re: First time in 86 years
Tom, where would you find the tank stamp on a September 1930 Model A pickup?

30 models did not have gas tank date stamps.

Re: First time in 86 years
So the # is between 36017 & 67700, if you would have listed the # we could have told you when it was build right down to the day the engine was built, And it would not have a tank date on it..

Re: First time in 86 years
Tom, thanks for that info about the tank stamps. My March 28 sport coupe tank isn't stamped either. I have wondered why for a long time!

My 1929 AA truck was stamped. Could not see it until took all the paint off. Is stamped 8-30-29. With the engine # *AA1955916*
