It's still a bit of a work in progress, Ryan is tweaking out some of the issues and apparently continues to improve it. Yeah it's different but eventually I think it's gonna be a lot better. It'll just take some getting used to.

So far the only ERROR message I've seen is for the social forums - they're not up & running yet. I haven't spent a lot of time on it yet either. But he told us they would be a while before back online.

FYI : most of the browsers(the programs we use to view websites) now have a way to make the Text on a given site, larger or smaller in the 'view' area.

internet explorer 11 : view / text size

----

firefox 29 : view / Zoom
zoom text only

----

opera 12 : view / zoom / pick a setting

----

Sadly, that forum theme has been disabled. Ryan caught on pretty quick.

Mike, in the other post on the subject, someone else said their password responses were going into their email spam folder.

Have you looked there?

The hambs not for everybody, I can see an out and out resto type not feeling comfortable there, but it really shouldn't be that difficult.

In your shoes I would sign up as a new member, then once online try and sort out what was going wrong with your old id.

When you ask for your password, Ryan doesn't get your request, looks it up on a list and emails you back personally. It is done automatically with no human influence. It may be that it is going to another email that you had when you first registered with the hamb. I don't know, but really it shouldn't be that hard.

This thread reminds me of all the wailing and gnashing of teeth when this format we are using was introduced on the Ford Barn.

You would have thought it was the end of the world.

We are creatures of habit and it is human nature to resist change but the Ford Barn was archaic with it's linear text and no way to post photo's and just day's away from disappearing from the internet forever when Shelly announced the upcoming demise.

Ryan stepped in and took the reigns and made some major changes and brought the site up to the level of the hamb with features the old guard Ford Barners hated.

As time passed even they came around and in some cases even the most vocal among them embraced the change.

I didn't grow up using a computer, and I'll admit some of the features on the 7.0 Hamb update is giving me problems but with time and persistence it will become easier.

New H.A.M.B.classifieds are looking very good now. I take back everything critical I said about it. The picture of vehicles in ad is a HUGE improvement

I agree, I only noticed that today, I don't know if it is new, or I just didn't notice it before.

I prefer old format and hope the Barn doesn't go the same way. I fought my way through the new HAMB, but entered this reply in 1/10th the time. No prefix needed etc.
I suppose we'll all get used to it but..........

Catch-phrases that make me cringe:
"Roll out"
"Stream lined"
"Having said that"
"Going forward"
"The new HAMB"

Like you young whippersnappers, we don't need the intertnet as long as the Pony Express is running.

The hamb classifieds used to have the location in the heading and a lot of the time the price also now you have to hit on the avatar and some people don't even have it listed there if it was to far away you didn't open the ad,saved a lot of time now it seems the majority of the ads don't have prices at all.I guess I'm just bitching.
