Re: The H.A.M.B.
I poked around a bit, just different. Used to be almost user identical to FB, not now. Few like change but we live with it and learn. Haven't seen one on the site since the change but there's probably a users guide somewhere.

Re: The H.A.M.B.
I think he has far more pressing things to do than answer PM's. It would be interesting to know if others applied for a replacement password and recieved one. Bob

Re: The H.A.M.B.
^^^^^^^ How long did it take to recieve that after you sent the request? I fell for one of the "USELESS ADS" that dominate the HAMB and think it somehow screwed my computer, I get links to the ASK websit all the time. I keep trying to apply for a new password but get no reply like the one your just recireved. it was a fun site for 10 years, I'll miss it. Bob

Ryan said he'll get that feature re-enabled soon. I keep having to log in each time I visit even though I click the "Remember Me" box..... Wish that'd get fixed. |

Re: The H.A.M.B.
CHECK YOUR SPAM FOLDER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Turns out Ryan sent me over 15 replies with a new "PASSWORD", since the HAMB sends out so many replies the server things it is SPAM. I clicked on the password, and wrote it down for future use, signed in and I'm back on the HAMB! Bob

Thanks for the suggestion, but nothing in my Spam folder. I can log in OK, but I shouldn't have to log in each time if I check the box, should I ?? I hate change....... |

Re: The H.A.M.B.
I think the new HAMB is a pain in the @**; I find the search results as only a huge list of posts exceedingly frustrating. The loss of the "view all" option is also annoying. Maybe the new format will be an improvement in the long run, but it isn't now.

Re: The H.A.M.B.
They have a search function with a magnifying glass icon to perform searches and it is evolving into a usable state as time goes by. I can see that it may end up being better than the simple search function that was in the previous version. There was no way to place limits on the old set up. The new one already has ways to limit the searches.

Re: The H.A.M.B.
The new hamb is excellent.
I've turned into a red button user. I just click the red button to pick up a thread where I left off last time. Imagine the task of providing a complex site like that that has to be instantly and flawlessly viewable to anyone regardless of the device they are using, the internet browser they are using, some on creaky old desktop jobs, some on a hand held mobile device. I think if you are thinking of complaining, ask yourself if you could have achieved the same feat. There is a thread running where people have raised issues and fed back to Ryan with problems they have been having. These have been responded to quickly and in most cases fixed already. Most things mentioned have been acknowledged and if not fixed already, are on Ryan's to do list. If it isn't working for you, it is you that is doing something wrong, not Ryan. Mart. |

Right on, Mart. I get tired of seeing these guys constantly bitching. If you don't like it, don't use it and just shut up.

New HAMB is fine, count me in the happy camper group, just getting the password was the problem. Bob

I do hope the fixes continue so that functionality is restored. I'm not saying that overhauling the HAMB is a small or simple task. I am saying that for what I do on the HAMB it wasn't needed (I recognize that I am only one out of a large group of users), and that functionality currently has been lost. |
