Front License Plate Mount
Looking for ideas to mount license plate to front headlight bar without bending iplate or having it shift into the radiator. Original type bar clips just don't seem to work well and are not particurly attractive. Originality not important but do not want to damage my headlight bar. Need some new ideas. What have you done?

Re: Front License Plate Mount
I use the original style. If installed properly, they will work fine and are pretty unobtrusive. They also prevent the plate from blowing back onto the radiator and damaging the fins. IF installed properly.

Re: Front License Plate Mount
Here is picture of my front plate mounted to the clamp bolt of a '31 bumper-it's not a stock A, but you can get the idea. I cut it out of 3/16" aluminum plate. There is a single vertical bar rising from the clamp bolt up to a modified x that supports all for bolts in the license plate. I can post more photos for you if it is something you want to pursue.

Re: Front License Plate Mount
My 1930 Fordor came with a "T" shaped bracket mounted to the Bumber clamp and the license plate is just above the bumper on the passenger side. I plan to keep it there. Putting the plate in front of the radiator might reduce the cooling ability on a hot summer day.

Re: Front License Plate Mount
Here are a couple of photos from the back. The vertical bar attaching to the bumper clamp bolt as well as the double "horseshoes" are all one piece. The AAA badge bracket (an original) is a separate mount.

Re: Front License Plate Mount
Stan I had the problem you mentioned because like mentioned above they were not installed properly. I had them on upside down. So try turning them over and they will work the way they should.
