Default another one saved .....parked since 1968 ...1940 deluxe coupe

Another one back on the road. They are still out there just have to get to them before the hipsters and the street rodders screw them all up.

Looks great. Doesn't need to be lowered. Leave it Henry Stock.

Great find.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

What about story behind how you acquired it, and more pictures.

The absolute last thing it needs is a chop or a small boring chevy.

What a great find. Wish that they were sold here, but unfortunately, we didn't get any Coupes. I would love to have this one in my garage. Love it. It is good to see that it has been found by someone who appreciates it for what it is.

Remove the glass, install a roll cage, weld the doors and trunk shut, paint the number "34" on the sides and fill-up the tank. Then let the kid sitting in the front seat drive it around the Wall Mart parking lot at night until it runs out of gas.

Very nice, and one of my favorite '40 Ford colors, too!

I'll confess, though. I'm one of those darned hot rodders, so if it were in my garage, it'd probably find itself sporting a Posie's reversed eye front spring and a set of Red's dual exhaust extensions and pipes with some glasspacks. ;-)

I often dream of the day I win the lottery, I would have nothing but original Fords from 1909-1940 all lined up.

That is one sweet find!!

Very nice find. Share some info, is it yours, did you find it or a friend or family member? Either way, great score. (Also one of my favorite colors)

Default Just A Bit Of Fun

Taking a little poke at Skidmarks, having come out pointing at "Hipsters". I"ve been worrying also about those guys messing up my Forties too. Any modifications I plan are flashbacks to the fifties or before, mostly just to keep up with the fast traffic on the highways today. I'll probably ruin my coupe with Bendix brakes and a prewar Merc 239, Looks just like an 81A. Having Fun: Fred A

All it needs is a wash and wax and full tank of gas.....and you will realize how lucky you are.

A dropped axle might help the car some, but its about perfect like it is. As far as chopping, the aesthetics and proportionate style of the 39-40 coupes are so spot on that changing the slope or height of the roof has never improved one.
If it were mine, the only thing I would change would be the gas after it ran low.
Super lucky find, congratulations.
