Need some help again from you guys.This may be a stupid question but I need to know if my flatheads crank is siezed up or not? My motor is still in my uncles 1952 F1,today while he was getting it loaded on a trailer, for a trip to his mechanic, my uncle was able to put the truck in neutral and it rolled smoothly onto the trailer..My question is, does this mean that the crank was moving freely inside the motor while the truck was rolling in neutral??? Any info would be appreciated.. Thanks

If the transmission was in neutral, what do you think?

No, the engine is not turning when the transmission is in neutral.

Before you pull the engine out, get a ratchet and a 7/8 deep socket and crawl under the front and try to turn the engine, Take the plugs out first and put some good penetrating oil in. Make sure you block the wheels good so it doesn't roll. Put the truck in nuetral and try to turn it over. I doubt the crank is siezed. If anything it's a stuck piston in the bore or stuck valves. THere's always a valve or two that stick when they sit for long periods of time. Don't hurry, take your time. You may have to put penetrating oil or something in each cyl and let it sit for a few days. THen try to ratchet it over by hand.
