Cowl vent springs...
Installing the new ign/light switch wires I noticed this spring hanging about. It seems the pictured driver side cowl vent door spring is broken, passenger is still attached.
Looking through the various available catalogs I do not see any replacements for these, any input would be great. |

Re: Cowl vent springs...
Someone in the past has added those. There was a flat spring steel strip riveted to the lid that acted as springs. The bump in the strip goes down under the cowl to lock in place.

Re: Cowl vent springs...
That spring isn't repro as little demand for a ventilator spring, at least you have the other side one, take it to your hardware store and they have box or drawer of springs and find something that will match!

I don't believe he was referring to a "26 - '27 cowl lid - the earlier coupes & sedan used that ventilator & springs.

You are right. I was thinking that it was gas door on his 26/27, but if for 4 door, that that would be correct.

Re: Cowl vent springs...
I do not have a cowl fuel tank on my 26 fordor, my tank is under the seat. Thanks for the input and will update with some springs for any one also needing to replace theirs.
