HELP This Roadster Get HOME!!!!
This old roadster wants to go home to find the wizard that pulled wrenches on her back in the 50's and made her so quick. She was built by a man who worked at the Salt Lake City Lincoln-Mercury dealer in the early to mid 50's. She's a 1933 with a '34 hood and grill. The car was a dark maroon before the '54 Buick color you see in the photos. It had a white Tonneau cover that zipped up the middle and did not have a top. The windshield was chopped and the hood was louvered with 80 louvers .
The car also had a pencil-sized stainless steel fender welt and the frame, suspension and engine were painted dark blue with a chrome front and rear axle. It had a black horizontal tuck-&-roll with a small silver beading on the seats and door panels. The dash had a chrome-plated gauge panel and glove-box door. It also had a built 1940 Mercury engine with a four-inch crank and Lincoln gears. Approximate time frame the roadster moved to Seattle was around...1957??? It was stored in a basement under the stairs -- the garage door was filled in with windows, and there she sat for many years until the car was bought by Robert Norrie of Seattle in the mid 1960's. The car had a blown clutch and the brakes needed work. I've owned this little roadster for 45 years and believe the story to be accurate. This old roadster needs your help to identify its original builder and help her find her way home. Any small piece of information could be important. She's not for sale! Just wants to reunite with her former builder or his family and friends. Thanks, Bill |

Re: HELP This Roadster Get HOME!!!!
A lot of us here on the early V8 part of the barn have dabbled in the hot rod bits & pieces and most have intrest both ways. I spent some time in Utah but not enough to know the folks your looking for. The HAMB has a 1000:1 more posters & lurkers than there are here on the barn. Salt Lake City is a pretty good size metro now but I have seen quite a few posters on the HAMB from that area. Lake Bonneville is not too far away.

Love the car. On the HAMB there is a social club called the Utah Hambers. You might want to post the pictures with them and see if you get a bite. It's a start. Someone might remember it.

Re: HELP This Roadster Get HOME!!!!
Don't matter if its a "hot rod" here as long as its got a flatty. There's some real "history" with that car.

Re: HELP This Roadster Get HOME!!!!
I agree, many of us here would love to own that car, including me, but I also agree that the H.A.M.B. gets much more traffic than here, and someone there just my remember that roadster. Let us know if you find out more info or maybe even the original builder. Good story, nice car!
