Default Goodbye, Miss Betsy

My favorite and most enthusiastic passenger, Miss Betsy, passed away on Tuesday at the ripe old age of 95 years. We took her for her last ride in Old Henry on Labor Day attempting to drive the scenic Nebo Loop. But, she was so frail and weak that we had to cut the trip short. She could no longer tolerate the ride and never rode again. But, thereafter, she repeatedly asked about Old Henry, how he was doing, and when he was going to be on the road again. She was the epitome of an absolute classy lady that never got old inside and was always looking for adventure. We could all aspire to such. I get the feeling that some of us are also a bit like her in the "never grow old" part. A most amazing woman and I will sorely miss her.

Here are some pictures of her on some of our road trips.

On our Death Valley trip in February 2012. (Full story here: https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/showthread.php?t=97822)

She's on the left.

RIP Miss Betsy. How nice you included her on your many sojourns, I'm sure she appreciated every moment.

Sorry you lost one of your passengers. 'Tis a good old age, though, and she was lucky to have you to take her out on these trips.

RIP.

Mart.

Henry,
sorry to hear that Betsy has passed, but she would have had the best time riding out to all those neat places in that old ford, I bet she had good memories of them, you should be proud that you took the time to take her and the other ladies out in the country, what a way to spend the days.
take care

I get the most joy from seeing the smiling faces of the older generation seeing our cars. You took that to another level and will always have those memories. May God bless her.

Professor Henry, I'm sorry to hear your friend Betsy has died. I imagine she will be riding with you in spirit on your future journeys. From your remarks about her, I am reminded of an elderly, hard of hearing, customer of mine who, when I was preparing to put headphones on her for a cordless TV listening device I had just installed, responded to my remark "We're going to fix you up now!" said "DON'T STOP WITH THE EARS!". That was 20 years ago and sounds like something your Betsy would have said. Your friend in The Ford Barn, Larry

Sometimes it's the cars that we love and give us meaning, but most times it's the people we meet through our cars. Rest peacefully Miss Betsy.

May we all strive to leave a joyous legacy as she did. She sure seemed to enhance the lives of those around her that have written
These older generations are passing as we all will do. But they do seem to have a character and values that seem to be passing as the generations
God's Peace for all
