I need to get educated about my engine. Here is what I think I know:

What should I know so I can have a reasonable conversation with an engine rebuilder. thanks for any guidance Steven |

It's hard to sift out what you are unsure about from the list of statements you have made.
What do you think your motor is, and what are it's identifying characteristics? Mart. |

Sounds like a 1938 thru 1940 221 85 Hp engine block. It may have been bored to 3 3/16" or the tin can sleeves removed if it had them. |
