Need a quick tire opinon
I am going to bit the bullet and get some radials for my '51. I am looking at 205/75/ R15 OR 215/75/R15. The 205 is the closest overall diameter to the standard 6.70-15. However, the 215 has a wider whitewall which is closer to the original whitewall width. The difference in diameter between the two is about 3/4"
Questions: Any problems going to the 215 size (steering, speedometer)? What is your preference Coker or Diamondback? Thanks Tom |

I have Coker Classic radials and the feel like the have knots on them, even after balancing. I wouldn't buy another set. A friend bought Diamondback and is well pleased.

Tom, I got the B F Goodrich Silvertowns for the wifes F-1. Very nice tire. I'd go with the 215's JMO Ken

Re: Need a quick tire opinon
I would defiantly go with Dimondback. They use new Modern tires with the latest technology and their whitewalls are unbelievably easy to keep clean. I have a friend with cokers on his 37 and a ton of weights to balance. Another friend has a 56 Tbird and has a bad thump which he can"t get rid of. Dimondbacks might be a little more money but well worth it IMO.

Re: Need a quick tire opinon
The P205 75 X 15 are the widest you could go in the back. There is not much room between the body and tire with the stock wheel and that tire size.

a 70 series might be too wide. the 205/75 is also good so it's a tough choice. I love the Diamond Backs and would buy them again. jdl |
