Default Drum interchange

Is it possible to install hubs and drums, front and rear, from a 1940 Ford onto a 1934 Ford with mechanical brakes? If so are there any modifications that must be done? I would like to keep the mechanical brakes.

Thanks, Don

1934 shoes are 1 1/2" X 12". 1935 on they are 1/4" wider. Never tried it. Not a usual fitting. Good Luck: Fred A

'32-4 spindles are much the same, here's a thread from the HAMB that lays out how it's done; http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/t...thread.970252/
Dennis and his dad have been doing this kind of swap for years and produce/sell all the pieces to do what he shows.

Sorry, just realized you asked mechanical backing plates, don't think it's been done for the above reasons.
