Default What type of additive to add to water

It's starting to get that time of the year. I plan on draining the antifreeze and running straight water because it's been my experience that water runs cooler.. What is a good additive to add to protect the engine from rust and to lube the water pumps.

the best thing you can do for the engine is run a 50-50 mix of antifreeze all year, it has rust inhibators in it, and it will also lube the water pump seals. so why change it?

There are some water wetters that have a lube and anty corrosion in them . Could be another option.
