your thoughts on snyders vs brattons parts?
just curious as to some of you long time builders thoughts on the subject. I have had a lot of poorly made parts lately.Just wondering if one was better than the other? (not trying to stat a war) lol

Yes I agree those two Dealers generally offer the best available. Maybe it would be better if you were to ask about specific items so we can tell you who manufactures the best.

Re: your thoughts on snyders vs brattons parts?
You didn't mention Bert's in Denver, but they have a lot of original parts available at reasonable prices. I try to use original parts if at all possible as I have been disappointed by more than a few repro parts, especially sheetmetal items. You can be almost certain original parts will fit correctly, even though many times they need to cleaned up and sometimes repaired. I understand there are many parts that would need to be repro parts as many original parts are not available. Synder's and Bratton's, like other have said, are good vendors, but I have even been disappointed with a few of their parts.

Re: your thoughts on snyders vs brattons parts?
It all depends on what part, all vendors MOSTLY carry the same products, however there are some differences here and there, depending on what their inventory is, some may have reproduction pieces that are now made better or worse than years past. I have had good luck with all their sales reps even when I have technical questions with a measurement before I purchase.

Re: your thoughts on snyders vs brattons parts?
You must be more specific.
You see some parts Bratton's has made up and sells and Synders buys from him. Other parts are made by Synders and Brattons sells them. This is not limited to just these two suppliers. Seems they each kind of pick a pet project and have it made. I talked to Brattons once and it is not easy to get parts made to specs. They go through a bunch of shops trying to get quality stuff made up. So the better thing is to always ask about specific parts on this board. |

It would be interesting to know who makes what, Vintique is another manufacturer/vendor.

Re: your thoughts on snyders vs brattons parts?
Snyder's and Bratton's have been around a long time and so has A+L Parts .They would not be if most of their parts suck. Over the years i dealt with all 3 but more with A+L parts because of his 180A [Deluxe Phaeton parts] . A+L will not deal with junk as i have found and that's why he has a small amount of inventory. ALL 3 makes some parts not all and they trade off between one another. Not anyone person can make the whole line of parts for the Model "A".

I have found them both to be excellent. Like Pete, I have used A&L for the special stuff since he started the business in the 60's. He was great friends with my father, and always asked about the family when I called. For folks in the north east, Tam's in Mass is a great choice.

Tam's offers rebuilt steering columns and other services, good people. A&L makes great stuff, and I like buying directly from them.

Snyders is the fastest shipping I have ever seen and their staff is a pleasure to deal with. I have also purchased from Brattons and I was very satisfied. Can't go wrong as I see it with either one !

Snyder's has excellent wares and great service. We've been dealing with them for the past 30+ years.
Deal quite a bit with Bratton's too and have found their prices and shipping time excellent too. Mike's in GA is another good source too, I usually have my parts within 2 days after placing an order. |

I use Snyders exclusively and have never had any problems. Usually the parts get to me within 3 days.

Re: your thoughts on snyders vs brattons parts?
I live in Ohio, so when I buy from Snyder's I have to pay tax and shipping. So it depends on the item and the price to see which one I should buy from. I've driven about 1/1/2 hours to Snyders and that was a neat experience.

Re: your thoughts on snyders vs brattons parts?
Okay, I would like a source for model B distributor cams. I would like one that actually was as advertised. I recently purchased one from one of the two originally named suppliers and I'm going to return it. Poor finish, tool marks including chatter, not exactly a quality product.

I've bought from all of the dealers listed above, and have good experience. They will all make it right if something goes wrong.
