Re: Zenith carb rebuild
Tom Endy,
You can't fool me, you say you're no expert, but you sure write like one! ( Don't be too humble. Chief always said, "If you know a lot of stuff, tell folks & share it! Iffin' you don't know stuff, be quiet & listen, you might learn something NEW!") Bill W.

Re: Zenith carb rebuild
Tom and Ron are both sharp and know!
With that said, here is some food for thought. These figures are out of my Holley carburetor book from 1975( not for "A")( boy, I'm up to date ) on jet size(flow) and drill size( hole size) in each jets. These are examples. # 80 jet-- .093 drill # 81 jet-- .093 drill # 82 jet-- .093 drill Hopefully, you see were I'm coming from.....flow is important. |

Re: Zenith carb rebuild
The Zenith carburetor was built using flow tested jets at the factory. That fact is well documented. As far as the jets are concerned, If you want it to “perform as new” then you would have to at least flow test and adjust the jets back to spec. I wouldn’t stick anything, wires, drills etc in the brass jets. They are very soft and you will change the flow rates.
This document is from the Zenith Fuel Systems web site. www.zenithfuelsystems.com They used water to test the flow rates of their jets. |
