1935 Pickup Interior
I have started to reassemble/restore a 35 pickup which was disassembled 10 + years ago and moved several times before making it to my garage. After sorting thru 15 boxes of parts and new replacement parts there appears to be a total lack of interior components with the exception of window winders, door locks and garnish moldings for the doors and rear window. I would appreciate some members posting some pictures of the original or near original interior. I’m missing the part of the dash that goes along the bottom of the windshield and hides the regulator.
Thank you for any help. |

Re: 1935 Pickup Interior
Dave I have a '36 PU like 47fordkid and I am pretty sure the interiors are basically the same as a '35.
About the only difference that pops into my head off hand is the '36's had a door pull built into the top of the door so you wouldn't pinch your fingers between the door and the window glass, like you do in a '35 PU Please post pics as you make progress, love seeing these trucks! |

Re: 1935 Pickup Interior
Dave,
There's a complete description of the cab interior in the 1935-36 Truck book available from the Early Ford V8 Club. It's $67 delivered. The book is mainly about big trucks but the cab components are virtually identical. Just something for you to consider. I think the part you might be missing is the dash rail. Attached are some images. It's attached with 12 No, 10 x 1/2" binding head screws and leather washers. Dave

Hopefully it will provide you with help in re-assembling your pickup. Feel free to ask me questions as they arise.

Re: 1935 Pickup Interior
That steering wheel in 47fordkid's nice 36 truck is a 35 wheel. Did the trucks use a carry over wheel from the 35 models, or is that the incorrect wheel fitted? Not trying to nit-pick; it's a nice truck, but just wondering if indeed the trucks used the earlier wheel in 36 or not?

Re: 1935 Pickup Interior
Brian - I'll nitpick a bit myself regarding terminology. The 1935-36 Ford Trucks (Model 51) use a 4-spoke steering wheel which look like Model A steering wheels. The 1935 pickups (Model 50) and the 1936 pickups (Model 67) steering wheels have a few options (see below). I know the word truck is used interchangeably for a pickup, but Ford in this time period used the Truck term just to denote the larger trucks, so that's my nitpick.
According to the 1928-1936 Chassis Parts book: 48-3600-A (Black) is listed for both 1935 and 1936 pickups 48-3600-B (taupe) is listed for 1935 pickups 68-3600-B (Steelspoke gray) is listed for deluxe 1936 pickups I appreciate your keen eye to notice and question the steering wheel shown in the photo. I never would have questioned if it's the correct one or not and I'm not even sure how to tell the difference.

Re: 1935 Pickup Interior
Thank you! So, 48-3600-A is used in both 35 and 36 pick ups. I never knew that! cheers.
The difference is that that particular wheel [original to 35 Std passenger cars, with which I am most familiar], has radial ribs about 1 1/2" apart, spaced around the periphery of the wheel

Re: 1935 Pickup Interior
The best I can say is the 1936 parts book lists 48-3600-A as being the steering wheel for both 1935 and 1936. Maybe this is the "standard" wheel? The 1935 Taupe version may have been for a different interior color? Maybe just panel trucks?? Unfortunately I can't definitively say as I don't know enough of the details for pickup trucks.
