Question about scuff plates
I have a pair of scuff plates that I always thought were for my 35 Ford coupe but don't fit. does any one know what these may fit? 89-9125 is on the back. Thanks in advance.

Re: Question about scuff plates
The '8' in 89 would usually indicate a 1938 part number. The '9' in 89 would usually indicate Mercury. Possibly for a 1939 Mercury ????? I really don't know. Maybe the experts will shed more light.... OMO, and not very good.

Re: Question about scuff plates
Many not be FoMoCo. The parts in the Ford chassis books have fuel systems parts on the early 9000 range of the 4-digit number code then in the 9200 range it gets into instruments like the fuel gauge.
