Ford 59 Carb
The carb on my 39 Ford flatty is a Ford 59..possibly a 59A.
Any comments on the reliability and dependability of this carb? Apparently it was used on 47 to 48 cars and 46 to 47 trucks. Was it made by Holley? If I look up a carb kit for this carb, it seems as if a Holley also uses the same kit? Any comments on this carb would be appreciated, positive or negative.. |

Re: Ford 59 Carb
It is a Holley 94 variant. The Model 59 is of the same quality as other 94s of the era. A couple of things: make sure it is thoroughly cleaned, if rebuilding; make sure the throttle shaft bore/ shaft are not worn to create a vacuum leak; use quality rebuild parts, Daytona Carb offers a good kit; make sure mounting surfaces are flat. Okay, that was a few things.
