Mysterous Horn Ring
I have this, what I thought was a regular 1946-1948 horn ring. The question is about the black keystone shape, in the center. Is this other than normal ?
Thank you, MIKE It has been determined that this is a 1947-48 Super Deluxe horn ring. It is listed in the "FOR SALE" Section. CLICK ON PHOTOS TO ENLARGE - Twice Last edited by FL&WVMIKE; 04-24-2011 at 12:27 PM. |

Re: Mysterous Horn Ring
It seems like the color for 41 to 48 Super Deluxe centers had a red wedge in there and the "Ford" part was red too. The 46 usually had a gray back ground instead of gold. The Standard "Deluxe" models may have been black with gold as pictured. Perhaps someone else will know.

Re: Mysterous Horn Ring
If you turn the horn ring over you will see a couple of screws there should be a number stamped in the plastic.. Page 3-22 of the 41 - 48 v8 club has color pics

Thank you for suggesting that site ! So, this is a 1947-48 horn ring. Henry Ford died in 1947. Perhaps the black center was introduced in 1947, in his honor. Thank you, MIKE |
