Re: Installing master cyclender and pedals 40 Pick up
Are you installing a different pedal assembly in a 40 pickup, or 40 pedals in some other frame? You are not clear with your question. Please rephrase.

Re: Installing master cyclender and pedals 40 Pick up
No Lawson, I'm installing 40 pedals on the stock 40 pick up frame, curious if I need to remove the pedals, bolt the bracket on the frame then install the pedals on the shaft and clip on the retainers. In other words I need to remove the pedals ?
Thanks |

Re: Installing master cyclender and pedals 40 Pick up
As I recall there is a rolled lip surrounding the pedal opening in the frame. You can't get the bracket to sit flush due to the brake pedal interfering with the rolled lip. You should only have to remove the brake pedal.

Thanks TJ I already removed the clutch arm , no big deal to pull the brake snap ring. It just wouldn't set flush. Luckily the floors are toast so I can get at this easy

Rolled lip? Wrong side of frame.

Re: Installing master cyclender and pedals 40 Pick up
Yes the rolled lip is on the inside of the frame. It can interfere with installing the pedals if the floorboards are in the car. That's why I said to remove the brake pedal so it doesn't catch on the inside rolled lip.

Trick? No trick... in fact a pain in the butt each time. However, it can be done.

LOL, never heard the frame shape itself called a rolled lip. The comment is clear now, thanks for the explanation. Think the frame rails are stamped, but rolled lip will do!

Re: Installing master cyclender and pedals 40 Pick up
JT, I have not installed the wood below the cab, this will make a clearance issue I'm sure. It is just sitting on the frame rail now. I appreciate the help. I have the wood just need to install it. Work in progress.
Thanks to all for any help or suggestions. |

Re: Installing master cyclender and pedals 40 Pick up
Hmmm... I did not realize the cab is sitting directly on the rails. I am betting that will make the installation impossible. Even with the cab sitting properly, it is a challenge. A doable challenge indeed but still, a challenge.

Re: Installing master cyclender and pedals 40 Pick up
How difficult would it be to raise the cab up on blocks to provide a little clearance?

Re: Installing master cyclender and pedals 40 Pick up
I am pretty sure I put my pedals in (40 PU) before the cab was on. I thought that the floor board had a metal plate that you installed after you had the cab on the frame. I don't seem to remember any issue with them, but I could be wrong. I think you will need to raise the cab up to get it right.
