Question town sedan garnish mouldings

A friend has an early '30 town sedan. He is missing the lower, horizontal garnish mouldings that go below the window garnish. I have found a set for a 30 town sedan but it seems that the overlap from the main garnish overlaps too far down and doesn't allow that horiz moulding to slide under on any of the doors. The quarter window lower garnish slides in perfectly becasue the upper garnish doesn't have that overlap.
Anyone out there have an idea of what the problem is? The car seems to be a deluxe as it has cowl lights.

It sounds like he started with a Standard Fordor and I'm guessing a Briggs body. If you look I suspect you will find integral, stamped "Pull-To" hand grips on his mouldings instead of the nickel plated cast grips used on Town Sedans. There will be issues with the seats as well making this conversion.

Many folks have added cowl lamps to these cars over the last 50-60 years.

We had suspected Standard vs Deluxe. It is acutally a Murray. There are the hand grips that were painted when they did the whole garnish. I will check to see if these grips are cast. You're saying if they are steel it is a Standard.
What are the seat issues? The whole car was restored in the 70's. There is no fold down rear seat arm rest.
Thanks

Besides the fold-down rear seat arm, another built-in feature to differentiate differences between a Deluxe Fodor with cowl lights & a Townsedan is that the interior light in a Townsedan was mounted towards the rear, (above the rear seat), as opposed to the Fodor's interior light being located further towards the front.

Sometimes it is difficult to see what one has because in some cases, former restorations were not provided in exact detail.

If there is not a rear center arm rest, then the car is not a town sedan, and as such, should not have the little garnishes under the window moldings.
