Default Aussie T member request for assistance

Hi

After trying most of today to adjust the coil box and its setting I am convinced I need to use a coil box tester to check things out.

Would any Australian forum member have a T coil box tester that they would be prepared to lend for a week of so? I am more than happy with picking up all postage costs etc.

Cheers
John

Usually the coils need setting and inspection, not the coil box. Some time the coil box does short out, but I do not know of a tester for the actual box?????

Sorry I meant the actual coil (which is in a timber box).
I am looking for something along these lines https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1410

That is a "buzz box". It won't and cannot be used to properly adjust a Model T coil for proper operation. All it can do is make a coil buzz.

You need a hand cranked coil tester like this:

We electric dummies send our coils to experts who have the equipment and the experience to make them like new. I can think of three offhand. Is there somebody like that in Oz?
