Posting images directly in threads.
I just made a quick video showing how to post an image in a thread. You need to have uploaded the thumbnail first.

Re: Posting images directly in threads.
SO, I've got to upload my picture to a web site first. I can't use one that is just on my computer? Maybe that has been my problem all along. I'll do that when I've got a few minutes to play around with it.

Re: Posting images directly in threads.
Yes it has to be "on the internet"
You load it here as a thumbnail, I was showing how to convert it from a thumbnail to a full size image. |

It must be somewhere on the internet to post as a FULL SIZE photo. You can still post a THUMBNAIL-sized photo from your computer, like BELOW! That's what the PAPER CLIP ( ) symbol is used for. NOW that it is already posted on internet (right here on F'Barn below), you can click on it and make it full-size. That's all that Hoovie guy does! What type airplane is this? Re: Posting images directly in threads.
Please help me, I am confused. The attached photo is just on my desktop and not the internet. People used to post on the internet and then on the site but too many times the link would be broken and the photo would vanish. Maybe what you are thinking of is posting a very large photo?

Re: Posting images directly in threads.
Charlie. If the photo is in the thumbnail it is on the internet. It is on Fordbarn's server.
Just follow the instructions. click on the thumbnail so it shows full size. Right click and select save image address. This puts it in your clipboard. close the big image and select edit on your post. Select the mountain (image) icon and paste the address in. click ok and save and the image will appear full size in the post. Like I showed in the video. Note: You can use the same technique for any image that is already on the internet. On the internet means already saved on a server somewhere. Clicking save image address stores the location of the image on your clipboard. pasting the address in the image icon box allows the image to appear in your post. Mart. |

Re: Posting images directly in threads.
I fail to see why going to the trouble posting a full size picture. All you have to do is click on the picture and you will get full size.
I fail to see why others take a picture and then repost it full size. Seems you are costing the owner if the site (Ryan) a lot because of this. I guess if it's not your money, who cares ???? Never mind the additional space it takes up trying it in the test area (you would think hey would edit it out once it is done). Sure, maybe the people like it - but they can get the same thing just by clicking on the picture as I mentioned.

Re: Posting images directly in threads.
I have no problem using the thumbnail method provided on this forum but I also wonder if I can post one from my instagram account here. This is a test. https://www.instagram.com/p/ClIctVDOevB/
No, it looks like just a link to the photo on instagram. Ok.

Re: Posting images directly in threads.
Coop,
I knew they made one B17 prototype with Allison engines (in case of a shortage of radials). I did not know until I looked it up that it had a separate designation : XB-38. |

Damn, you're good, Denny! Only the one was ever built. On it's ninth test flight, and while at some elevated altitude, number three engine caught fire. They were unable to extinguish the fire, and being at such a high altitude, didn't have enough time to descend and land safely. Everyone bailed out, and that was that! Surely was a pretty thing, though. |
