My New Tools
For general interest... Here is a set of Model A tools I collected for my March 1929 Sport Coupe. Aren't they cool?
Thanks go out to Don Turley and Gary Johnson for help in identifying the correct items. I also built this box based on Don's design. Hope he doesn't want a royalty. Still looking to upgrade a few items... will troll the swap meets this summer. Does anybody else collect original tools?

Re: My New Tools
I am closing in on having a set for each year for the passenger cars. Have you seen the Deluxe AA set that is on eBay.

Re: My New Tools
I have been making and selling the display boxes for three months. See my add on the swap page. I think you will like them!

Re: My New Tools
I've been collecting kits and cases for all our T's and A's, using Don Turley's cases. Very interested to hear somebody is making them again, I'll be ordering a couple.

Re: My New Tools
Very nice display case! Avid tool collector here. Just completed full set of jacks from 28 thru 31. Only collected for two years, but got most everything for my early and a late '30 A's, and '23 and '25 T's. Fun hunting with lots of swap meets, occasional EBay, and an amazing score at a Kansas auction... 56 lbs of various Ford wrenches. Now for a case to hold them... like Don's awesome display!

Newshirt
I guess I would consider myself a Model A Tool enthusiast also. Most of these were found over a 12+ year search at the local flea market as well as searching at various swap meets, etc. The past couple of years I finally broke down and purchased a few of the really hard to find items from Don Turley and Gary Johnson. Steve and Phil at Bert's here in Denver have helped me with several also. Since this picture was taken, I have found the ones that are missing from the picture. Ray |

Re: My New Tools
Hi Brent,
Yes I was following those tool kits on E-Bay. While I think the prices were a bit on the high side, that crank with the 1 1/8 inch lug end was EXTREMELY hard for me to find for my kit. The other AA kit that drew a bid of $1250.00 is very nice also. However, as you know, the lug tool and handle may not be correct. Although they match exactly the ones shown in the JS, the tool section has not been revised since 1994. Neil Wilson of the AA Truck Club posted a copy that he has of an original Ford drawing for that tool and it is very different from the one in the E-Bay kit. Ray |

Re: My New Tools
Wow! I must ask, as being somewhat new to the barn, are these tool kits what would come standard with the purchase of a new Model A? Can you guys give a run down of the ingredients?

Until reading this section of the RG&JS and beginning my own collection I did not know what came with the Model A when purchased. I assumed a jack, but that was all. Now I know exactly what buyers got with their vehicle, and I'm even more impressed with the value Henry provided with each car.

Re: My New Tools
The fancy wood boxes of course didn't come with the car. The smaller tools came in a small bag with flap that snaps closed. The bag was made from top material.
