Default Vermillion Red Paint

Does anyone have a modern paint number for the old Ford Vermillion Red? If possible give me the brand and code no. or part no. Thanks

35 years ago I used Dupont Centari 8554 # 38...... I don't think it's an absolute perfect match but no one ever came up to me and said that's a horible looking red on your wheels. I've always thought it looked great and if I ever have to repaint I'll see if I can use it again..... not sure if it's still available or not. If you want to e-mail me I can send you a pic of my car and you can judge for yourself whether or not you like it !

I have no personal experience with this company but they advertise selling nitrocellulose lacquers.

You can get the formula for a pint from dupont and try it first.

I have a PPG number of QDE403 in my notes for Vermillion.

One thing to keep in mind with Vermillion- Ford used that color for several years after the Model A and there are 4 or 5 different mixing codes for it. The same color was brought back in 1951 under the name "Coral Flame" but uses the same mixing code as the 1936 rendition of Vermillion. Clear as mud!

Actually there's 2 Vermillions used in 2010 and 2011, Ford paint codes E4 & F1. One is a Commercial color and one is a Passenger car color. However neither are close to the original Model A Color.
