Mountain "Barner's Bash" & Moonshine Festival
Up to this point I have done most of the promotion for the 2012 Mountain "Barner's Bash" & Moonshine Festival over on the non-Chevy side of the ChevyBarn, with a little bit of info on the events in the thread (What I did on my Lunch Hour) here on the FordBarn. Now that it will be a couple of weeks before the re-launch of the ChevyBarn, I'll continue to provide information/updates on the events in this thread, for anyone that might be interested in attending. Hope to see you in Dawsonville, Georgia this October 26th -28th.

Re: Mountain "Barner's Bash" & Moonshine Festival
Hey Vic, I don't see any information on this year's festival on the Dawsonville link or the Kare for Kids link. I got a letter from the organizer and she said to register for the Friday cruise but I can't find a form.

Re: Mountain "Barner's Bash" & Moonshine Festival
Gene, I don't know what is going on with the actual Moonshine Festival, as I don't register to put a car around the Court House. I usually register for the Kare for Kids car show down at Thunder Road. This year we're going to have a "Barner's Bash" Mountain Cruise on Friday the 26th, not part of the Moonshine Festival Friday Cruise. If you get to Dawsonville on Thursday night and would like to cruise with un on Friday, let me know. I posted some info on my (What I did on my Lunch Hour) thread and I'll be posting more info here as the event gets closer. Vic

I don't do the downtown show, either, but usually go on the Friday cruise. If the 'Barners are are having a cruise that day, keep me posted. |

Re: Mountain "Barner's Bash" & Moonshine Festival
We are having a cruise on Friday, I posted a pictorial itinary on my thread "What I did on my Lunch Hour", I'll post it here as well:
2012 Mountain “Barner’s Bash” & Moonshine Festival Pictorial Itinerary After seeing all the super photos from the New England Tour, I thought it might be a good idea to put together a pictorial of what you can expect to see at the Mountain “Barner’s Bash” & Moonshine Festival. Friday, October 26th, the “Barner’s Bash” tour begins at 8:00am at the Old Sautee Store, in Sautee, Ga. We’ll depart at 8:30am and cruise with a stop at Nora Mill (grits ground on site) Then on to Helen, (possibly do breakfast) Next we’ll embark on our road trip with a quick stop at Goats on the Roof Where you can pick up snacks and/or top off the cooler or pick up a Coon Skin Cap! Now we’ll drive back toward Cleveland And on to Dahlonega (for lunch) After lunch we’ll continue our cruise over to Dawsonville and Thunder Road For the Friday night cruise in and swap meet. Saturday the Moonshine Festival is in full swing in down town Dawsonville and at Thunder Road as well. If you are driving a Flathead or other antique/classic/hot rod, etc. you can pre-register for the car show at Thunder Road (Google Moonshine Festival/Care for Kids) or you can register on site. I think the registration fee is $20.00. The Moonshine Festival continues through Sunday. This is just a sampling of the activities planed for the weekend, I hope you can join us. __________________ Imagination is more important than knowledge.

Re: Mountain "Barner's Bash" & Moonshine Festival
Vic,
I think JM and I are going to travel down and meet up with "y'all" on Friday. We were supposed to plan it out when we were in Maine but spent most of the time eating or drinking. I'm sure I will see him at Hershey. Your pictures sure look like fun, Chuck S. |

Re: Mountain "Barner's Bash" & Moonshine Festival
John, are you going to Hershey this year, if you have a space there, I'll stop by and we can figure out a place to meet up, and a route.
I'm getting the radiator re-cored for the 47 so it should be in tip top shape. Talk to you later Chuck S. Quote:
