Default 1918 cheby V8

i saw this car yesterday it was a orignal car that was in the Henry Ford museum for 50 years very neat. the owner also drove it on the longest auto race, new york to San Francisco i thought that the motor was interesting. it has a 3 " bore and a 4 1/2 stroke 288 cubes and something like 35 hp

I saw one of those c----y v/8 engines at Harrah's collection in Sparks Nv.
about 40 yrs. ago. it was a 1917 engine only on a stand.

i saw that motor ther last year, the oner of the car sait that ther is about 11 of thim left

How about an 1918 olds flathead V8. Someone in wash. state had one on craigs list last week. Gotta be about as rare?.

There is one of these in a local museum just down the road from where I live. I believe its the only one in Oz.

There was one in the basement at Word Chevrolet in Scottsboro Al. I think they are out of bisiness now.

About 1960, I was told of the whereabouts of one of those early Chevrolet V8s. It was on a farm in central West Virginia. The man who knew about it, lived there. Of course, I never checked it out. It probably would have been given to me. I hope it was saved !
