Default Winter project "dog house".

Hey all! I haven't posted in a while. I have been trying to finish my dog house to have somewhere to go when the wife is mad at me for working on old Fords. Proud to have a place to "play".

NICE "dog house" Scott!

Are you going to have a special room for a Lionel Train layout?

That is my next adventure...the "dog house", but in a smaller scale with a special room for my Lionel Trains!

What size is it and who's the manufacturer? I have never seen an open steel truss roof on a pole barn before. That is great for using a lift. Did you install radiant floor heat?

Thumbs up Re: Winter project "dog house".

Scott,

You dog! Woof, woof, can I come over and play. Man, what a shop and collection! Did you build such a good size shop for maybe a Ford Tri-Motor airplane, hmmmm.... Good for you.

Heated? Just a torpedo heater right now and it knocks off the chill. My plan is for a natural gas heater overhead. There are only a few "really uncomfortable" weeks during the winter here, so it won't be bad.

Ed, it is 40x60. I built it myself. It's not a kit, although I did price some pre-fab jobs. The outside is 26ga steel, from a local mfg. Trusses were special order locally as well. I did consider a lift, as there is good overhead room. Notice there are cross braces along the bottom of each truss though. A couple could come out I guess.

Scott,
I beg to differ with your term "dog house". A "dog house" is filled with kid's toys, the wife's junk, a storage household cast offs and the shaggin wagon which in most cases is attached to the shack of residence.

What you have sir is a 100%, bona fide MAN SHED!

I hope you know, the icing on the cake is to have a lift and urinal.

Oh, by the way, I hate you too.

GW
