My 29 tudor front crossmember bolts to the frame. Were all the A's crossmembers fastened with rivits or did someone before me bolt this in for some reason.

Re: 29 front crossmember
I have come across a lot of frame members that were bolted in and all were just done as a quick replacement. Frame members should always be riveted as factory but not everybody does it this way. Make should they used high grade bolts and lock washers. Me........I like to re-rivet them in that way I know they will stay put.
Cheers! |

Re: 29 front crossmember
On my 71 F100 I found out that the transmission shop cut the rivets out of a cross member and bolted it back in after the job was done. That wasn't the only "shortcut" they took, and needless to say, I haven't taken them any work since then. I was so torqued over the job they did, I paid them in $1 bills, all 832 of them. They were lucky I didn't have that many pennies.

Re: 29 front crossmember
I bolted my front cross member in my 29 frame back in the 50's. It is still there in my huckster. I know it is not correct but for now, it works for my driver.
