Default Help with 1933 Grill attachment

I am mocking up my car and have the fenders attached.

I cannot figure out an easy way to bolt the grill to the pie shaped deflector and the fenders. It seems to me that there should be cage nuts around the inner chin of the grill, but my grill(which I believe is original) does not have any.

Any help would be appreciated.

Should have a D nut between the 2nd and 3rd indentation on the grill about 6" up ,one bolt down on the centre cast divider ,another one into the inner guard about 15" up Ted

You might find it easier without the fenders first. Install radiator, inner fenders, grill then hood. Once you have that looking good install fenders and adjust fender brackets to fit.

Thanks John.

My question is more to do with how the Grill bolts up to everything. There is no way to get my hand in there to hold a nut or bolt. Because of that, I am assuming that there was some sort of cage nut attached to the grill but from Ted's post that is not the case.

With everything loose, you can slip one of those nuts attached to a "U" shaped piece of spring steel onto the edge of the grille leaving the nut over the hole. With the welting in place you won't see the small gap caused by the "U" shaped part. Then you can install the bolt from below.
I had to do this on my 33 as the grille was missing 1 of the D nuts.

On my post I said there's a D /caged nut on the side .the heart shaped pan goes on the fenders first ,then the grill ,bolted through from under . Ted
