T 170 Transmission
I have what I believe to be a 4 speed overdrive transmission with an aluminum case set up such that the shift lever is on the top cover of the transmission case (not on the tail shaft area). I was told it came from an 84 or 85 F150. The tag on the transmission reads as follows: top line: RTS BT JG4 Bottom line: E6TR KA 0069
Can anyone tell me the gear ratios inside? I am particularly interested in the overdrive ratio but all help very welcome. If nothing else, please let me know where I can find information on how to decode the tag as a transmission shop and ford dealer were not very helpful. Thank you in advance! Pete |

Re: T 170 Transmission
There are posts in the early v8 forum that should help you. I've googled the rts trans in the past and have found the info you seek.
