Joe Plumber, I do have a life. Thank you.

Mr Tube, I agree with you a general BS section would be nice.

For All, here is the Personal Message that I sent to Dusty, right after my post, just so you understand the reason behind my response.

Ahh so I guess no one here has ever shared some thing that has personnally happen to them??? thanks buddy.
Dusty, personal things are often put on Fordbarn. Most of the time folks are asking for prayers, e.g. Rowdy's daughter, or another Model A hobbyist has died.

I too am in my 60's and things happen. However, I feel that if we start placing non-Model A things on this board it will get like eBay. Looking for Model A stuff on eBay is tough with all the non-Model A items.

Also, the demise of Ahooga happened when folks started using it as a chat service rather than a Model A site.

Undoubtedly you have a lot of friends on Fordbarn and folks love your part of the country and want to hear about both.

Who is ever in charge please remove this post so we don't offend anyone else

Yup, a big photo of a black and blue foot was a shocker but I played football for many many years and have seen much worse.

Dusty, I have no beef with you. I am not with the Fordbarn police. However, I really would like to keep Fordbarn on the hobby of Model A's so it doesn't suffer the same fate as Ahooga did.

Thanks Dusty.

Speedy recovery.

Dean

Enough said.

Hi Dusty, sorry for your pain. Most of us have had "events" like yours. Although it was harshly written,I think Dean was only trying to keep this forum focused on Model A's. here in Takoma Park.we have a neighborhood site that's intended to alert our locals about events and problems. Some days it's filled with info that has absolutely nothing related to local situations. Because of this, I've pretty much stopped reading it. Heal quickly.

Keep the faith Dusty, you will get better. I'm 76 and had my right knee replaced in early July, I didn't think I'd ever drive the A again, well today I started the Special coupe and was able to drive in the driveway. Next week she hits the road with the Docs. blessing.

I'm with Dean. There is nothing to learn from the original post that is relevant to the purpose of this forum. If Dusty had hammered his foot removing the trans from his A, then we might learn how to avoid that. But falling down a cliff? Sorry for your pain, but all God's children got troubles.

How about the time I fell down a creek bank while trying to retreive some water after my Model A boiled over. Does that qualify?

Nope, it's red AND blue so you're bipartisan neutral

Speaking of color (and to keep this A-related), been meaning to tell you I do like the color scheme on your Sporty but, dayum, I can hear it all the way out here in the midwest

I've had broken bones (ankle and otherwise) and they're no fun - get well soon.

Don't you just love 1 percent, trying to control the 99 percent!

I opened this post to find how Dusty fell down a rock bank, thinking about Model A parts, rather then watching what was at hand!

Now, if I would have not had any interest in the post, I would have moved on, not sit there and make an issue out of something the normal people have to defend.

There isn't a big requirement to being a " Liberal", just pick a Subject, and Think Backwards, about it.

Good Luck with your foot Dusty.

Hey everyone thanks for those that took the post for what it was and to those that had a problem with it I am sorry. I felt this place was like family and for the most part I do believe it is. I wanted to pass along what happen to me as a warning to anyone who still thinks they are 20 years when they are not and I guess if I even made one person stop and think before doing something stupid I did good.

However I don't want to cause any hard feelings between members here and no matter what your opinion is I will make sure in the future that my posts remain Model A related. Most of those posts will be in the form of a request for assistance because I really don't know that much to help(but I am learning from the gifted people here)

sorry again

Hang in there Dusty, don't let Dean discourage you from posting a personal note now and then. We are all friends here, and besides, you have made lots of posts and contributions over time. I've made my share of off topic posts over the years, and
the worst thing that usually happens to me is that I get ignored. Take care of that ankle.

So the board correct post should read like this. Fellow Fordbarners please pray for my coupe as will now have to sit idle while I recouperate from a broken ankle I got from thinking I was a kid trying to take a picture and fell down an embankment. Please pray that the "A" does not get any kind of rust disease, gasket rot or heaven forbid a case of bad gas. Thank You for keeping my car in mind.

Dusty's misfortune made me think of a "fortunate" story. Back in '99 I rode with a friend from Allentown, PA to Lancaster, PA to attend the MARC meet there. The Model A he was driving was a car he built as a joke, from all the scrap-together parts he could find. It ran all the way down, but the water pump started leaking, badly. We used up all the water on hand. At one point, the car was pressure cooking and we stopped to find a creek. I clambored down a roadside bank to find no creek, but I found a band-new unopened gallon jug of spring water lying in the woods. That was enough to get us there. True story.
