It might be "ho-hum" but not a 3/4 cam, in my opinion. It is much more radical than Schneider 250, 260, or 270, Isky 77B, 88, or Max 1, Winfield SU1A and bordering on the timing of the 400jr. It has about 50 degrees more duration than a stock cam and that is pretty "big".

ATTN JWL: More input if you will please, The "ho-hum" cam .. with duration plus, good or fair, in 276 engine, with Sharp heads, two/two 94s Sandreson headers, with some porting and relieving in a heaver car ie 39 fordor, looking for good low end off the line ??
AND; as I have your attention, the intake manifold you tested on some of your many pulls, made by Joe Federowiez, is it comming to market, sometime soon if every ?? and in your next book, please put a pull-out pattern for the oil scraper, and also the windage tray, some of us backyard dooers would like to make. thanks..... It is a question of severity of "badness or goodness" and definitions. Such a cam would not have as much torque as a stock cam at any speed below 2500+ RPM. However, with tight fitting heads of less than 70cc and slightly altered(from stock) driving technique most people could use it. It would not be a good choice if low end torque is your most important requirement.

With our flatheads there is no single component we can alter or change that will make a big increase, or decrease, in power unless we go to a blower or oxygen laden fuel.

I have not been able to get any more intake manifolds cast. The designer has moved on to other projects.

I never thought about the pull-out pattern for the oil scraper , but, that is a great idea. I wish I would have thought of it. OK, if I ever finish another book I will include it.
