8BA crank in a 40-41 block
I have a 40-41 block I want to put an 8BA crank into. The original crank has 2 slingers that go into the aluminum filler blocks, one in the block and one in the rear cap. Will the rear seal retainer from a 59AB fit the block? And what do you use for a rope seal retainer for the 40-41 main cap? I know somebidy has them. I have the 59AB retainer for the block, but does the one for the cap come from some engine? Thanks Walt

Re: 8BA crank in a 40-41 block
i posted the information in another thread that asked the same question. i believe that you will need to use p/n 19b 6336. this is the rear main cap rope seal retainer. i`ll post some images in a few days, if you are interested

You are correct, it takes the 19B-6336 rope seal retainer.

Re: 8BA crank in a 40-41 block
Walt
I checked the ones I have and their mostly 8ba. Have one "No Number" that's the same size as the slinger style, but not sure if it's the one that goes into the block or cap. PS need your phone No and address. PM Me |
