Default 1936 ford pickup dash

I am restoring a 36 pickup. I notice on some pictures there is some knob to the right of the glove box. What is it for? Mine has been plugged and bondo'd

That could be the knob to control the vent for the manifold heater opening in the cowl. See if you can find a picture of the inside cowl on the passenger's side. Should show a 4 inch round grille type face. It would pull to open and pushed in to close.
Not much of a heater.
