First, if you’re searching for “Lawrensburg”, KY – I think that it’s spelled “Lawrenceburg”.

I’ve never seen a definition for a Ford speedster in print. I did searches on Google and Wikipedia and came up empty. So, I’ll take a shot at giving you an answer:
A Ford speedster is built from either a Model T or Model A Ford (1908-1931) and is powered by a 4 cylinder Ford engine from those years. The engines are often modified for more power. The fenders are quite often removed and the bodies are generally cut down to reduce weight and get the occupants ‘closer to nature’. There really aren’t any other rules that I’m aware of – each speedster reflects the opinions of it’s builder/owner as to what makes for the best modified early Ford.

Edit: I should have also mentioned that quite a few builders buy or build custom bodies and seats. The use of aftermarket parts is a generally accepted practice, as long as they appear to conform to the 'period' in which the original speedsters were being built. It's also acceptable to use an engine, transmission or rear end from, say, a Model A in a Model T speedster.

Here are some photos to get you familiar with what some speedsters look like:

And, here’s a slideshow that I put together from photos of the 2010 Rally:
