Default I知 Stoked !!

I got to drive my 1950 F-3 truck for the first time. Did I say I’m STOKED !! I had to overcome a few problems before we hit the road. Seems the fuel Tank is gunked up so I had to improvise and temp tank. Then the fuel pump will not provide enough fuel pressure. I strapped the temp fuel tank to the roof and gravity feed fuel to the carburetor. This shortened the road trip to just around the block. I wish I had a picture !!

Found out the brakes worked and I have an unsynchronized 4 speed transmission. I got it up to 3rd gear and must have been doing 15 MPH. I’m not sure if it will do 50 MPH. Also found out the speedometer doesn’t work nor does the generator. It’s a good thing I love working on this old stuff.

A big THANK YOU to Ford Barn for all your good advice that helped get the truck this far. I'm sure there will be more questions to come.

There's nothing like the view from the drivers seat of an old Ford. Kinda like going back in time.

Proud of you!! Take it slow & easy. Check out an electric fuel pump (airtex) and consider a new fuel tank. It will be a lot less pain in the future

That's cool! I have the same truck and the same transmission. It's a lot of work to drive and I thought that if I drove it enough I would get used to the transmission but I've had it on the road for almost 3 years and I'm still not used to it. I guess the part I don't like the most is all the gear wine, everyone knows when I'm coming.

I put a 4:10 dana 60 in the truck and I can go about 73mph tops. Course my flathead is almost all original without a lot of power.

Good luck with the build.
